01Tree Risk Assessments

Fulfil your duty of care

If you manage trees on a school, park, caravan park, strata complex or commercial site, you have a duty of care to the people who use it. A tree risk assessment shows you’ve taken reasonable steps to identify and manage tree hazards.

Our assessments are carried out by qualified arborists accredited in VALID tree risk assessment. We assess each tree that may pose a risk and record the degree of risk, our recommendations to reduce it, and the timeframe for completing the work.

The result is a clear document and system that shows due diligence has been done, and a prioritised plan you can act on.

03Good to know

Experience matters

All our AQF Level 5 arborists have years of experience as working arborists, so they understand how and why trees fail. That hands-on knowledge is crucial to assessing risk accurately.

Tree failure is only part of the picture. A thorough understanding of site use, how often the area is occupied and what could be hit is just as important to calculating a tree’s real risk.

06FAQs

Tree Risk Assessments questions

What is a VALID tree risk assessment?

VALID is a recognised tree risk assessment method that weighs the likelihood of a tree or branch failing against the likely consequences, so risk can be managed in proportion.

How often should trees be inspected?

Most trees in public or busy areas should be inspected every one to three years, depending on their size, age, condition and how heavily the area is used.

Do you do the recommended work as well?

Yes. As a working arborist crew, we can carry out the pruning or removal recommended in the report.

Can a risk assessment help with insurance?

A documented assessment shows you’ve taken reasonable care, which can help if a tree incident ever leads to a claim.
