01Palm Tree Removal

Safe, efficient palm removal

Palms are everywhere in Cairns, and many were planted too close to houses, pools and power lines. Over time they can block views, drop heavy fronds and coconuts, or become unstable in storms.

We use specialised techniques to remove palms of any size, whether that means climbing and sectioning, felling in open space or lifting the whole palm out with a crane. We work for homeowners, businesses, resorts and property managers, and tailor the approach to the palm type and site.

Every job includes clean-up, so your property is tidy and ready for new landscaping.

03Good to know

When to remove a palm

Overgrown or damaged palms can drop heavy fronds and seed pods, and weakened trunks can fail in high winds. Removing unhealthy or badly placed palms protects your house, cars and family.

Removal also opens up views and makes space for new landscaping. If the palm is healthy and you’d like to keep it, regular maintenance may be all it needs.

  • Leaning or damaged trunks
  • Palms too close to buildings or lines

06FAQs

Palm Tree Removal questions

Can you remove a palm next to my house?

Yes. We section palms down by climbing or lift them out with a crane, so nothing lands on the roof, pool or fence.

Do you remove clumping palms like golden cane?

Yes. We cut out the clump and can grind the base so it doesn’t regrow.

Do I need approval to remove a palm?

Most palms on private residential land don’t need approval, but some council areas and heritage properties have exceptions. We’ll check for you.

Can you remove just the coconuts instead?

Yes. If you want to keep the palm, our coconut de-nutting service removes the nuts before they fall.
